At Makerere University we offer Translation and Transcription services for our International applicants, students and community. This is done at the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHUSS), Centre for Languages and Communication Services; Under the Makerere Institute of Languages Project.

We translate documents to and from different languages, both international and local including but not limited to,

• All Ugandan languages
• Chinese
• Italian
• Turkish
• German
• Dutch
• Japanese
• Russian
• French
• Arabic
• Swahili
• Hindi/Urdu
• Korean
• Among Others

The Centre for Languages and Communication Services at Makerere University also offers courses in different languages.

1. Teach different languages (LANSKIL) like English, French, Spanish, Swahili, Korean, Italian, German and Local Ugandan Languages.
2. Transcribe audio materials in different languages
3. Interpreting services
4. Conduct language proficiency tests and issue proficiency certificates recognized the world over.
5. Conduct communication skills training (COMSKIL)

Duration Of The Courses:

• Our LANSKIL and COMSKIL courses run for 2 months.
• We organize Special Sessions for clients who cannot attend regularly.
